Mom Deemed “Too Stupid” to Raise Kid

ENGLAND – A single mom deemed “too stupid” to raise her own child is waging a last-ditch battle to keep her 3-year-old daughter from being adopted by another family.

“That girl has been stolen from me. They might have stamped all the paperwork, but she has effectively been stolen from me,” the 24-year-old woman told the Daily Mail.

The Mail and The Times of London reported Tuesday that a British judge has reduced the amount of contact the mother, identified only as Rachel, can spend with her daughter, who is now with a foster family.

And within three months, the child -– referred to in legal documents as K -– will be handed over to adoptive parents.

“Then, when she is with the adoptive family, that will be it. I will never see her again,” Rachel told The Times.

Rachel has never been accused of abusing or neglecting K. But the city council in Nottingham, England, recommended that her rights be terminated. K was born prematurely with severe medical problems, and officials felt that Rachel lacked the intelligence to care for her daughter.
