Evidentally, there is an ever-growing trend of Japanese peeps, who are struggling in the lovin’ department, giving up on the 3-D world and falling for Anime on pillow cases. You have to read this thing, it’s unreal.
I mean these people literally take these pillow cases to dinner, to karoake and even, I quote, “take touristy pictures under cherry trees, frolick like children on merry-go-rounds and slurp noodles on street corners.”
This is the real deal. In America you have the 40-year old virgin who tries his best to finally get some and in doing so creates hilarious antics. In Japan, they give up and start doing pillows with cartoon pictures of 12-year olds.
I love tasting my pillow and poppin’ z’s…but this?

At the end of the article, the interviewer asks the main subject of the story if he has given up on real marriage as it appears so many have.
“Of course I want to get married,” he said as we drove back to West Hachioji station listening to his favorite Eurobeat CD. “But look at me. How can someone who carries this around get married? People are probably wondering what psychiatric ward I escaped from. I would think the same thing if I saw me. I’m pretty conflicted inside. People say there are some otaku (what 2-D lovers are called) who don’t want to get married, but that’s not true. Some have so little confidence that they’ve just given up, but deep inside their souls, they want it just as much as anybody else.”
If you seriously want to get married, go to a bar, get hammered, start chattin’ up some broads and for goodness sakes leave your pillow on your bed. You’re anime pillow is now your backup plan. If for some reason you go out and aren’t able to pimp a chick, then and only then, do you get to go home and get crazy with your pillow. But, quit letting that damn pillow prevent you from getting actual 3-D chickses.
