Is that a banana in your pocket, or are you just trying to rob me?

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Seventeen-year-old John Szwalla was, according to authorities, holding a banana under his shirt when he walked into a store in Forsyth, North Carolina Thursday, warned he had a gun and demanded money.
The owner of the store, Bobby Ray Mabe says he and a customer jumped Szwalla, holding him down until deputies arrived. Mabe also says the teen ate the banana while they waited.
With the ‘weapon’ apparently disposed of, deputies took photos of the peel upon arrival on the scene, whilst joking about charging Szwalla with destroying evidence. Szwalla faces a charge of attempted armed robbery.
