Happy Memorial Day from Ed Rusher

First off, Happy Memorial Day to everyone. Now to why Mr. Ed Rusher is wishing you a Happy Memorial Day.
Quick background: A long, long time ago, we previously posted Mr. Rusher’s video here and may have said some stuff like, “does he really think this is a good song?” Well, he didn’t take very kindly to our criticism.
Here is what he had to say.
To get to the point- It is a good song that was inspired after I went to Camp Lejuene and performed for the “Wounded Warriors.” For those of us that have actually fought for our country we know the true sacrifice made for liberty. I spent 9 years in my beloved Corps. This Marine knows the impact that the mainstream liberal media can have on the morale of troops in the field. The mainstream media “hamstringed” both wars almost from the start.
The lyrics of this song are the words of real warriors that I met and spent time with. I know to a liberal civilian American who has never served, it doesn’t taste good in your palet to hear what the real warriors of this country think of your vaunted mainstream media. For those who have fought for it freedom has a taste, the protected can never know.
Best Regards,
Ed Rusher
We then had this to say.
Dear Mr. Rusher,
To get to the point- No it is not. First let me say that we appreciate your service to this Country and you can and will never be thanked enough for the time, sweat and blood you have sacrificed for your fellow Americans. Maybe I know this because I myself spent time in the Corps, or maybe I know this simply because I have family and friends that are spending their time right now in a branch of Our Armed Forces.
My point is you don’t have any idea what my background, my political views, or my opinions on the wars are, so for you to insinuate that I haven’t fought for my country, or that I am upset to hear what the real warriors of this country think of the very freedom they are fighting for, is nothing short of asinine. Besides, we have ten writers on staff here at the Pinkie, and many more who contribute in some way. We are not politically affiliated with anyone or any party.
I am not doubting the lyrics of this song are real, or saying they are not inspired in anyway. See, one of the great things about this freedom you speak so highly of, is that it gives EVERYONE a right to have an OPINION. And that is all this is, an OPINION. I am certain there is someone out there who enjoys your song. Hell there may even be someone right here on the Pinkie staff who enjoys it; but in no way, shape or form does not liking your song have anything to do with your personal attacks on who you ‘perceive’ to be liberal civilian Americans who have never served.
Again, we infinitely appreciate your service and time you gave to this Country and for the freedom that allows us to post our THOUGHTS and OPINIONS, and we wish you nothing but the best in all you do. If it is your goal to write songs and sing em, by all means we hope you are successful to the fullest.
May God Bless You in all you do,
And May God Bless America.

[...] I love this country and I love Ed Rusher loving this country. However, Mr. Rusher is not too fond of our sarcastic love of his work. He emailed us back in February cussing us out for ridiculing his song. Read his cussage outage by clicking here. [...]
Nice retort.
Nothing gets my goat more than Liberal v Conservative rhetoric.
There are plenty of things wrong with our country. Plenty of topics to pick a side on. But, the least concern of our country right now should be which team your on. Because, frankly, I think BOTH are heading in the wrong direction.
Health care. Economy. War. Liberties.
Pick one and start an argument because I haven’t seen a single MAJOR difference between political parties on any of the previously mentioned topics to argue Red v Blue – Liberal v Conservative – Democrat v Republican.
It’s not about whether or not we should start Gov.Care. It’s about how we should do it. It’s not about how to fix the economy. It’s about the where the billions that the taxpayers are giving up is going to go. It’s not about whether or not we should fight wars overseas. It’s about how we are going to the fight the wars. It’s not about whether or not the government can tell you what you can or can’t do, say, look at or talk about – it’s about to what degree the government can monitor those Constitutional freedoms.
The two party systems is a complete joke and anyone who thinks there is a major difference between the two is completely blind to how this country is run and what direction it’s heading in.
