Hokie fans are just as crazy about their team as any SEC school……..They would fit right in. The bowl game with Tenn. was a game that we’ve wanted for a long time, and that would be a quick rivalry. All we have up here is the ACC to watch, & I for one would LOVE if they picked up Tech!!!!

With Texas A&M the SEC is getting a portion of The Texas market.
The SEC would dominate the market in Virginia, a state with a population of 8 million and the #1 ranked state in cost-of-living adjusted median household income.
Virginia is also, by far, the largest state without a major pro team.
Virginia is a large very wealthy market ripe for the picking.
It would be great to have the two largest universities that are also Senior Military Colleges in the same conference.

It actually makes way more sense for the SEC to add Virginia Tech than Texas A&M. A&M has been irrelevant in college football for years, so what exactly would they bring to the table? Everybody in Texas roots for UT

The state of Virginia has 2 of the top 50 TV markets in Richmond and the Norfolk/VA Beach area (The Hampton Roads area) not to mention Northern Virginia. I am excited because the allot of us Hokies felt like the ACC never really wanted us 6 years ago…

With VA Tech, the SEC gets the entire Commonwealth of Virginia market. A state that includes Norfolk/Hampton Roads- 1.7 million people, Richmond 1.2 million people, Roanoke 600,000 people and lastly and most imporantly Northern VA/DC-2.5 million people in NOVA alone!
