KC’s Ryan Succop gets Vanderjacked in Week 3
Week 3 is over and the only thing you hear about is the replacement refs but the only guys that really matter are the kickers!
The “Mess in Miami” is something that was not Vanderjacked worthy. Dan Carpenter missed two field goals, including one in overtime. Carpenter was only 2-4 on the day and certainly must take the brunt of the boos on this one. Of course not much went right for Miami, as the Dolphins called a time out after blocking a Jet field goal only too lose on the next attempt. Laces Out Dan!
There was a different story in Kansas City. 2009′s Mr. Irrelevant came through big time! Ryan Succop kicked his way to a Chiefs record. He was 6-6 from Field Goal range including a long of 45. Succop won the weekly award twice last year and was probably next in line to the winner David Akers. Succop’s day led his team to a 27-24 victory over the hapless Saints in overtime. The Chiefs offense and success will depend on the foot of the former South Carolina Gamecock.
Succop joins week 1 winner Akers and Week 2 winner Lawrence Tynes as this years Vanderjacked winners. Last year’s first repeat winner was Sebastian Janikowski (weeks 1 and 12) and there were a total of 12 weekly winners. Just remember before you go out in the morning, look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself, “I will get VANDERJACKED!”
