Hauschka gets Vanderjacked and Crosby does not!
It was a slow week for kickers. NFL kickers were only 3-8 from over 50 yds. Two of those misses belonged to Green Bay Packers boot Mason Crosby. The Pack were beaten by the Colts and their young QB Andrew Luck. Crosby had a chance to tie the game at the end but was wide left on the 51 yd attempt.
It was a different story for the surprising Seahawks. A team in the NFL can win with a good defense if they can kick field goals. The 2000 Ravens were the best example with a lockdown d and All-Time Vanderjacked place kicker Matt Stover. Seattle is 3-2 on the season and its mainly due to a solid d and their kicker Steven Hauschka. Hauschka was a winner of the Vanderjacked award in week 10 of last year and is looking to continue to build on his personal success. He was 3-3 from field goals in a 16-12 victory over the stumbling Panthers. The best way to be personally successful is to be on a winning squad! He has started the season right by going 10-11 from FG range with his team on the plus side of the .500 mark. The NFC West is turning in to the home of the league’s best defenses and the team with the best kickers will be successful.
