Fantasy Football Week 8 Weekend Recap
Top 5 Free Agents
1). Danny Amendola WR STL Did Not Play
Amendola will be on bye this coming week, but will see some action the following week. When healthy he was the number one wide receiver on the Rams offense.
2). Rashard Jennings RB JAC 115 Total yards
Jennings filled in admirably for Maurice Jones-Drew this week putting up over 100 total yards. With Jones-Drew out for the foreseeable future Jennings looks like a solid play.
3). Josh Freeman QB TB 262 Passing Yards 3 TD
That is three straight games of three passing touchdowns. Added bonus is Freeman has a really nice remaining schedule.
4). LaRod Stephens-Howling RB ARI 6 Total Yards
Wow. I really thought Stephens-Howling would have decent game against the ‘Niners. Instead he was limited to six yards on eight running attempts. However, he still is the undisputed number one back. You can’t say that about a lot of running backs.
5). Cecil Short WR JAC 116 receiving yards
Cecil Short looks to have developed quite the repertoire with Blaine Gabbert. His last two weeks of production have all the makings of a solid number 2 wide receiver.
Three Trends to Watch
1). You have got to love Doug Martin’s fantasy projection from here on out. With Freeman finally getting the passing game going, his production should rise as well.
2). Matthew Stafford could be a solid buy low candidate. He looks to have turned the corner this week and has a couple great matchups as you make a push for the playoffs.
3). It might be time to abandon ship on the Eagles offense. To this point all members have underperformed and with talks of the Eagles going to a rookie QB things could get worse.
On a Bye in Week 9- New England Patriots, New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, & St. Louis Rams
