Fantasy Football Week 7 Start Em’ Sit Em’

Start Em’ QB – Matt Hasselbeck TEN, Eli Manning NYG, & Tony Romo DAL

The Buffalo Bills continue to be a solid start for any opposing quarterback. Hasselbeck’s mediocre play against the Pittsburgh Steelers should be an encouraging sign for fantasy owners. If Eli Manning can put in a solid week against the San Francisco 49ers, he should have no problem tearing apart the Redskins secondary. Coming off a bye week and a string of tough defenses, Tony Romo finally catches a break facing the Carolina Panthers. The only concern I can see is the run game vulturing a couple touchdowns.

Sit Em’ QB - Jay Cutler CHI, Joe Flacco BAL, & Matt Schaub HOU

The Bears are coming off a bye, but face one of the best front fours in football this week. Jay Cutler should find himself under immense pressure all game. This week’s match-up should be tough for both Joe Flacco and Matt Schaub.

Start Em’ RB - Darren McFadden OAK, Chris Johnson TEN, & Trent Richardson CLE

I would put Darren McFadden into the lock category for a big week. Jacksonville’s defense can’t stop the run so even Oakland’s shaky 0-line should give him enough space to operate. I have no confidence in this prediction whatsoever, but Chris Johnson should be a solid go this week. If Arizona’s third string running back can go for 70 yards, Johnson should, in theory, have a good week. Even a not so healthy Trent Richardson should put in a solid outing this week. If Shonn Greene can produce a career game, Richardson should at least a solid play.

Sit Em’ RB - Mikel Leshoure DET, Alex Green GB, & Shonn Greene NYJ

Since Mikel Leshoure has been named the Detroit Lions starting running back he has managed only one week of over 100 yards and one touchdown during that span. Things shouldn’t pick up this week. Even with Green Bay managing a big lead and giving Alex Green 22 carries he only managed to grab 65 rush yards. I would expect James Starks to limit his amount of carries this week. Don’t buy the hype of Shonn Greene’s miraculous fantasy performance. He won’t put up a repeat performance or even half of one this week.

Start Em’ WR - Stevie Johnson BUF, Mike Williams TB, & Marques Colston NO

Stevie Johnson finally gets a match-up not against one of the best cornerbacks in the game. He should take advantage of it this week. Josh Freeman has seemed to turn the corner and the person benefiting the most is Mike Williams. You have to love his match-up against the Saints this week. On the other side, Marques Colston comes off a bye week to rest his injured foot and should help him continue Drew Brees’ touchdown streak.

Sit Em’ WR - Sidney Rice SEA, Brandon LaFell CAR, & Greg Jennings GB

Sidney Rice faces a good secondary this week against the 49ers.  He won’t bust another long touchdown. Brandon LaFell’s drops continue to get in the way of him being a productive fantasy player. Until he starts catching the ball, he won’t be the productive player he was last week. Greg Jennings continue to miss practice due to injury. He can’t be trusted to be healthy enough to stay on the field.

Start Em’ TE - Aaron Hernandez NE & Heath Miller PIT

Aaron Hernandez is back healthy and once again one of Brady’s favorite options. He is a must start every week. Heath Miller faces a Cincinnati Bengals defense that got torn apart by Brandon Weeden. Roethlisberger should keep Miller involved early and often.

Sit Em’ TE – Martellus Bennett NYG & Kyle Rudolph MIN

Martellus Bennett has only 5 receptions and 41 yards in his last three games. With the New York Giants wide recieving corp finally healthy, Bennett has been pushed to the back. Kyle Rudolph runs up against a tough Arizona defense this week. You should look at other options as he could have a tough time getting open.

Start Em’ DEF –  San Francisco 49ers &  Green Bay Packers

I expect a nice low scoring affair this week in the 49ers & Seahawks game. The 49ers should force Russell Wilson into making a couple bad decisions. Green Bay faces a St. Louis offense that can’t seem to gain any traction. I expect a lot of sacks and a couple of interceptions from Sam Bradford.

Sit Em’ DEF - St. Louis Rams & Carolina Panthers

Aaron Rodgers seem to have finally hit his stride tearing apart the Houston Texans last week. The Rams streak of strong play looks to be coming to an end this week. The Carolina Panthers face a Dallas Cowboy team who have played against tough defenses and is in desperate need of a win. Not a strong match-up for the Panthers.

Lock of the Week – Aaron Rodgers GB 300 Passing yards 3 TD

The Packers offense looks to be finally back on track and Aaron Rodgers should be to consistently putting up 300 yards passing and multiple touchdown performances.

Intriguing Pick of the Week – Felix Jones DAL

With Demarco Murray out this week, Felix Jones gets the chance to be the number one back in Dallas. His big play ability should make him a solid play, the only concern is Jones sketchy injury history.
