On Paper
Philadelphia vs. New York
The Rangers (11-5-3) are hot this year and trying to earn the first 6 game home winning streak since the glory years of the mid-90’s, while the Flyers (13-6-3) are even hotter on the road (best road start in 18yrs). New York is led by 29 yr. old right winger, Marian Gaborik, who has 10 goals and 7 assists this young season. Their net minder, Henrik Lundqvist is off to a good start with a record of 8-4-3 and a 2.18 GAA. The Flyers are led by center Claude Giroux (13 goals, 16assists) who is having a career year. Something has to give and I look for the Rangers to pull out a good victory at home for their fans

Upset Potential
#6 Va Tech vs. #24 Virginia
This college football season did not expect Virginia (8-3) to have such a good year and now that they are here, they are playing for an opportunity to play the Big East Champion in the Orange Bowl. The winner of this game claims the Coastal division and a ticket to the ACC Championship game. The Cavaliers look to win their 5th in a row and have rebounded from their 4-8 2010 season. The Hokies are always expected to be in this situation with Frank Beamer at the helm. The winner gets to face the stumbling Clemson Tigers. Look for VA Tech to play stingy d but this game hinges on Virginia’s ability to capitalize on turnovers. If they can keep this close, anything can happen. I expect a good game but in the end the Hokies will prove to be too much, but I will rooting for the Cavs!

Don’t Bother
22 Florida St. vs. 4 Connecticut
Both teams had a big let down yesterday as Harvard, the Harvard of the Northeast, pulled a mind boggling victory by shooting a strong 27% from the field in a win against FSU; while UCONN went out and blew a huge second half lead against a dangerous Central Florida. As Harvard and UCF battle it out to become the rulers of Atlantis, the Seminoles and Huskies look to rebound. I can not see UCONN winning by less than 20 points in this one. They have something to prove after their embarrassing finish yesterday. FSU poor shooting will continue and their lack of offense will be the doom of this team.
FSU 49 UCONN 71
