I was at that game, and it didn't go down at all like you (or ESPN) reported it. That play came on the second drive of the 1st quarter and made the score 15-0. Maybe it was still unsportsmanlike, but I think it was just a matter of the coaches letting one of the best quarterbacks in the state have a little fun. The team's starters have only played more than a half in ONE game this year (a 1-point game). Man, at least pretend to check the facts before you publish.
