Happy 40th Anniversary To Sesame Street: The 13 Best Athlete Cameos

By: Carl H | November 10th, 2009 | Category: Sports

Many of us grew up with Big Bird, Bert & Ernie, Snuffaluffagus, Oscar the Grouch, etc.  Today, Sesame Street is celebrating it’s 40th anniversary by having First Lady, Michelle Obama make a guest appearance.

Over the years many famous people have appeared on the show. From Barbara Bush to James Blunt to Anderson Cooper to Billy Crystal. Tina Fey (as a pirate) and Neil Patrick Harris (as the singing shoe fairy) have made cameos. From Larry King to Johnny Cash to James Earl Jones to Aaron Neville (who sang with Ernie).

If you want to really learn about the history, and the awesomeness of Sesame Street, peep this Newsweek article on how it has changed the WORLD. It is about its dedication to sending messages of peace, love and acceptance to children. It’s about how for 40 years now they have faithfully depicted people of all races, ethnicities, and religions playing and living together as a peaceful community. It’s about how groundbreaking that was to see, especially on a children’s show in 1969…
