Saturday night, Bellarmine opened it’s doors to the Greyhounds of Indy and then slammed it on them when they thought they were welcome!
The Knights pushed their record to 22-1 after avenging their sole loss on the season. They defeated Indianapolis, 93-79, and also set a school record with their 17th STRAIT win. Bellarmine continued to do what they have done all season with each player playing their role. Jeremy Kendle, teams leading scorer, topped the charts with 28 and the Swiss army knife that is Braydon Hobbs chipped in 17 and 10 assists. Indy had a balanced scoring attack with 5 players in double figures but balanced scoring was not enough. The Knights were really never challenged as they maintained a mid-teens lead through out the game. One concern that showed up again was ball security. The Knights had 14 turnovers last game and gave it away 18 this game, which led to 23 pts off of turnovers for the Greyhounds.
The game clinched the regular season title in the GLVC but two of it’s rivals are still on the schedule with back to back games against USI and KWC. The home crowds have been great and StraitPinkie is pushing to sell out the last regular season home game next Saturday with KWC coming in for senior night at 8pm at Knights Hall
