BaRACKETS!!! – October 15th Edition
This is the FIFTH year of Straitpinkie.com’s push for a college football playoff, still based on the BCS rankings. So, in the never-ending quest for fairness and sensibility in the world of college football, the BaRACKETS are back – even if their namesake doesn’t make it for his fifth year.
Defending champ Alabama starts this year off in the top spot, with their SEC counterpart Florida debuting at two. There are seven (7) teams from both the SEC and Big 12 in the initial Top 25, and ZERO (0) from the Big Ten (Small Eleven).
And while the NCAA presidents have somewhat listened to the Pinkie, and approved a four team playoff that will begin in 2014 (and for some reason run thru 2025 – why lock into an 11 year contract off the bat?!?), we can still dream of a March Madness type tourney on the gridiron.
Check back every Monday to see what the 16-team, 12-team, or 8-team playoff would look like – - just so you can see what we are all being deprived of. Keep in mind these are IF the season ended today, which is why the Tortugas of Maryland, as the lone unbeaten in ACC conference play, would get the bid….
