Earlier this week we mentioned that Chad Ochocinco would be wearing pink cleats, gloves, wristbands, etc. the entire month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness. In his original tweet he also mentioned that if he was fined, he would match that fine and donate it to charity.
We now find out that the league office, two days earlier, sent out a release allowing players to wear pink for Breast Cancer Awareness.
In fact, for the first time the NFL is going to follow the MLB’s lead and encouraging players to wear pink. The pink gear will then be auctioned off to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Each and every one of us has been touched by cancer in some way. Therefore, straitpinkie.com is joining the effort to raise awareness.
You will notice that our logo is pinked out and we advise you to visit our friends over at MidwestSportsFans.com because they are taking donations for the Susan G. Komen Foundation the entire month of October.
We do not have any pink Strait Pinkie t-shirts as of now, but if we get enough interest we can get some made. They would be $10 and all proceeds would be given to the Susan G. Comen Foundation.
Email us at [email protected] if you are interested in the pink shirts.
