Will UK be the first to sport LBJ Nike Unis?

By: nickev | October 8th, 2009 | Category: Cats

Head Coach John Calipari held a chat today on CoachCal.com and the main subject was UK’s uniforms and kicks for the 2009-2010 season. The talk is that they will be wearing special LeBron James Nike kicks, but will they wear LBJ uniforms too? If so, they will be the first collegiate team to rock the LBJ logo on their jerseys.

He didn’t reveal what they would like but said will pay tribute to the school and the Commonwealth in a subtle fashion. He also said they may not be ready for the start of the season.

Remember when North Carolina and Cincinnati started wearing the Jordan Brand logo in the late 90’s.

LeBron knows what he is doing, especially when it comes to branding himself. Coach Calipari is leaving no stone unturned in his attempt to brand Kentucky basketball.

No they will not be because as my good friend JFresh has pointed out that I noticed after starting to post this….OSU already has LBJ23 Jersey’s and shorts…They wear them because he says if he were to have gone to college he would have gone to the greatest school of all time THE Ohio State University haha.
