LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADERThe house of former University of Kentucky basketball coach Billy Gillispie has sold to a doctor with three children.

“They didn’t know it was Billy’s house,” said Whitney Pannell, Realtor with Prudential A.S. deMovellan Real Estate, who represented Gillispie in the transaction.

Pannell could not reveal the buyer’s name or the price paid. That will be disclosed after the closing, set for mid-July.

Gillispie bought the house two years ago for $1.4 million and put it on the market last week for $1.5 million.

The European-style house features a theater, library, exercise room, wine cellar, wet bar and cabana room and maple hardwood floors. It is located 4 miles south of Man o’ War Boulevard off Harrodsburg Road in Forest Hills Estates.

In Jessamine County where 22 houses priced at $1 million or more are on the market, Gillispie’s house sold after only six days on the market, said Pannell who was obviously pleased.
