Things have been very quiet on the Brandon Knight front since his visit to UK this weekend, but fellow visitor Stacey Poole has talked to anyone and everyone and has made it public that he enjoyed his time in Lexington with his hosts, John Wall and Darius Miller.

Poole told Evan Daniels of Scout.com that he needed to return home and discuss things with his family, but a decision would come within the next couple days. Word is spreading that something should happen sooner rather than later, potentially Monday night or Tuesday. Additionally, he said that he is down to Kentucky and South Carolina, cutting Clemson from his list.
In spite of the fact that Poole told PalmettoSports.com that he was “not wowed” by Kentucky and was still “wide open”, the general consensus is that he will opt for UK. The fact that 3 star shooting guard Brian Richardson just committed to South Carolina further cements my belief, and the beliefs of many who are much more informed than I, that it’s a matter of time before he becomes Kentucky’s first 2010 commitment.
Stacey Poole’s potentially impending commitment is far from the only news on the UK recruiting front. It’s the time of year when lists are trimmed and commitments are made. Let’s take a look at some of the other headlines:
CJ Leslie
It had been a little while since we heard about CJ Leslie and UK…that changed in a big way today when news surfaced that Leslie will be on UK’s campus twice in the next 4 weeks. He will visit unofficially the weekend of October 2nd and again officially for Big Blue Madness on October 16th. It sounds like the Leslie-UK romance is about to heat up in a big way.

Kyrie Irving
Irving made big news with an unprecendented live UStream chat with fans on Sunday night. He actually answered some interesting questions during the first 20 minutes or so of the chat, but as UK and Duke fans caught wind of the chat and turned it into a shameless back and forth of plugs for one school and unveiled insults directed at the other.
No real big news came from the chat and Irving didn’t really slip up at all and show his hand, but he did reveal plans to attend the UK-UConn game in Madison Square Garden. Irving will join CJ Leslie at Big Blue Madness in a few weeks, and interestingly, Leslie also has plans to attend the UK-UConn game.
Irving plans to commit in early November via Twitter with UK and Duke as his favorites. He eliminated apparent co-front runner IU last week and will make visits to UK, Duke, Texas A&M, Georgia Tech, and Seton Hall. Duke will host Kyrie this weekend and seems to be in good shape.
Tobias Harris
Tobias concludes his set of in-home visits this week, hosting UConn on Wednesday, and plans to cut his list to 5 within a week of the final visit.
Tobias’ recruitment has turned into the first major battleground between Rick Pitino and John Calipari. Pitino and Cal both stopped by to watch Harris work out today and both currently have the full court press on.
Terrence Jones
Big man Terrence Jones hasn’t tipped his hand too much, but this week we could see some action, as he hosts Oklahoma, Kentucky, Maryland, Arizona, and Kansas. It’s unclear at this point wher Jones falls among UK’s priorities, but the staff feels he’s worth a pretty long road trip out to Oregon.
Josh Selby
UK will make a second in-home visit with Josh Selby and his family this week. It appears that UK has stepped up its pursuit of Selby after seeming to come back to the pack post-UT decommitment. I posted last week about the timing of the visit to Selby after Brandon Knight’s official visit this weekend and the possible significance. I am going to be watching this story very closely over the next couple weeks.
Adreian Payne
Not much here, just a reminder that Payne will take his official visit to UK this weekend. Payne has to be aware of Leslie, Jones, and Harris and that only a commitment reserves his spot.
