Micah Johnson, Jeremy Jarmon to return for Senior year

By: Guy | January 7th, 2009 | Category: Cats

Micah Johnson got a 3rd-5thrnd grade easily early 3rd with good work out! BUT Im still commin back! i will help make history! BCS in 09!Imma b the best LB in the country!!

This story first broke on Micah Johnson’s Facebook status (welcome to the modern world!), but UK’s star middle linebacker has decided to return to Lexington for his senior season, and the story has been separately confirmed by multiple outlets, including Larry Vaught and WKYT.

This is huge news for the Cats, who were already losing outside linebackers Braxton Kelley and Johnny Williams to graduation. It’s no easy task to replace an entire linebacking corps, and luckily UK will not have to in 2009.

Defensive end Jeremy Jarmon is also reported to be coming back for next season.

Jarmon, Johnson, and Lindley all received their evaluations from the Draft Advisory Board today. Jarmon was projected to go between the 5th and 7th rounds, Johnson 3rd-5th, and Lindley in the 2nd round. Reportedly, only Lindley was happy will his results, and apparently will forgo his senior season.

As the cliche goes, 2 outta 3 ain’t bad. UK will have a lot to replace next season, but this process is much easier with a rush end and middle linebacker spot solidified. Let’s hope the Whompers are on the way to the BCS bowl that Micah J was talking about!
