Jodie Meeks continued his strong play in the NBA summer league, making the Milwaukee Bucks look smart for grabbing him with the 41st pick and giving him a 3 year contract. Jodie helped lead the Bucks to their third consecutive win, scoring 20 points on 8-12 shooting, including 2-3 from beyond the arc.
Jodie has shown off the exact kind of scoring efficiency that UK fans enjoyed all of last year, as he has upped his scoring totals in each of his first three games. He’s now averaging 16.7 points per game on 60% shooting in just under 30 minutes per game. Jodie is also averaging 2.3 rebounds and 1 steal per game.
Meeks, along with Brandon Jennings (13 points, 14 assists, 7 steals) and Joe Alexander (24 points, 7 rebounds), were able to overcome John Calipari’s former point guard Tyreke Evans’ run at a quadruple-double (33 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists, 7 turnovers).
Jodie is making a strong case to be included on the Bucks opening roster this season with his play, and even if he doesn’t, he will be a very highly paid D-Leaguer.
