Jodie Meeks followed up on his 14 point debut for the Milwaukee Bucks in Vegas NBA summer league play by scoring 16 points in an 80-69 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Meeks was the second leading scorer, also playing the most minutes on his team, forming a dynamic back court duo with fellow rookie Brandon Jennings. Jennings scored 23 points to go along with 8 assists, but at one point was benched for showboating by Kelvin Sampson, who was coaching the Bucks team, on the way to a 7-18 shooting performance.
Meeks scored his points on 7-14 shooting, also hitting two free throws. He only attempted one three point shot, which shows that criticisms of Meeks as a one dimensional scorer may not be as founded as some thought. So far Jodie has scored 30 points in 2 games, and only 3 of those points have come from beyond the arc.
For all you Card fans, Juan Palacios played 8:33 in the game, scoring 1 point to go along with 2 assists and a rebound.
