Cats defeat Cards 31-27 in a thrilling Governor’s Cup battle

Louisville and Kentucky fought each other for four quarters and produced one of the best games between the two programs. Kentucky, despite running only four offensive plays in the 3rd quarter due to three turnovers, took the lead in the 4th and held on in the final minutes to defeat the Cardinals 31-27. We will no doubt get more in-depth into game analyzation (is that a word?) on Sunday, but immediately I took away from this game that Louisville may just be decent and Kentucky is now finding ways to win games as opposed to consistently snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. For now, the Governor’s Cup will stay in Lex Vegas for at least one more season.
