It is now apparent that Jon Gruden bought his so-called home in Lake Forest simply as a fall destination spot, not because he is going to be the eventual head coach at the University of Louisville.
Or maybe he didn’t buy that so-called home at all? It is amazing how fast rumors can swirl in this city.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Jon Gruden has extended his contract with ESPN and said that, “working Monday Night Football is the most fun I’ve had in years.”
Here is the rest of the story from the Sentinel.
Jon Gruden has agreed to a multi-year deal with ESPN, the Disney-owned channel announced this morning. What do you think of that, sports fans?
The former coach of the Tampa Bay Bucaneers will continue on “Monday Night Football” along with Mike Tirico and Ron Jaworski.
“Working with Mike, Jaws and our entire ‘Monday Night Football’ team is the most fun I have had in years, and I am fired up to make this long-term commitment to ESPN,” Gruden said in a release. ” ‘Monday Night Football’ is special, and I look forward to remaining a part of it and continuing to call these great games.”
The announcement didn’t specify the number of years under the deal. But Gruden’s other duties under the deal will include appearing on ESPN’s NFL Draft and Super Bowl week coverage, calling the NFL Pro Bowl in January and serving as an ESPN Radio analyst on the Rose Bowl and Bowl Championship Series.
Gruden was an NFL head coach for 11 years, first with the Oakland Raiders and then Tampa Bay. He led Tampa Bay to victory in Super Bowl XXXVII.
It’s probably a good thing, though. Do you really want this thing living in Louisville?
