Cards roll past Knights 88-65

Many people, including myself, thought Bellarmine would give the Cards a stern test, however the Cards put a stop to that early. Louisville jumped out to a 22-11 lead before the second TV timeout and never looked back. The Jamaican Sensation, Samardo Samuels, paced the Cards with 18 points, but more importantly had 14 rebounds as well. Preston Knowles and Edgar Sosa added 15 and 12 points respectively.

Freshman Peyton Siva once again provided a huge spark off the bench and displayed his ridiculous athleticism with two highlight reel plays in the 2nd half, both of which came on fastbreaks. Bellarmine’s Forrest Smallwood, hehe small-wood, was driving towards the basket and the 5-10 6-0 Siva jumped and swatted Smallwood’s layup attempt beyond the three point line. A few moments later, Siva followed a Jerry Smith missed layup with a reverse dunk. Simply spectacular. We’ll have a full recap later.
