Louisville released its official basketball schedule today for the upcoming 2009-2010 season. Louisville will kick off the season with an exhibition against the Georgetown Tigers on October 28 at the Hall of Freedom. The Cards then face Scotty Davenport’s Bellarmine Knights the next week on November 4, again at the Hall of Freedom.

After two weeks off, the Cards will start playing games that count November 17 against former Slick Rick assistant and UK unforgettable John Pelphrey’s Arkansas Razorbacks in the Hall of Fame Showcase in St. Louis. The non-conference portion features games at UNLV, against Western Kentucky, and of course at Kentucky. However, outside of those games, Louisville will face the likes of Stetson, Western Carolina, and old C-USA foe Charlotte.
Naturally, all those games build towards Big East conference play which will begin for the Cards November 30 against South Florida. Louisville will face Connecticut, Syracuse, and St. John’s twice during Big East play. The Cards close the season March 6 against Syracuse. That game will mark the final Louisville home game at the historic Hall of Freedom.
