Pinkies Up!!! Chris Rix’s Pops Edition

Many of you may remember the Chris Rix Lifetime Achievement Award that we posted back in November.  If you don’t remember it, check it out here. Well, it got linked on SI Extra Mustard and our site blew up and we thought the Pinkie was going to take over the earth, as we had like 8,000 visits a few weeks into our existence.  Within a week we were back down to our normal 27 visitors a day.

Anyways, today I check our email at info@straitpinkie.com and I have an ewave from Chris Rix Sr.  It reads, “Those that can do, do.  Those that cannot, teach. (Woody Allen)  You can do neither.  By the way, where did you play quarterback?”

First off, I can do. In fact is it exactly what I do.  I just do it.  Secondly, why are you cussing out those who teach.  Great quote from Woody Allen there, cussing out the teachers who mold the next generation.  Real bright.  Oh and I didn’t play quarterback anywhere.  Never claimed to do so.

I have no clue what Mr. Rix Sr. is pissed about.  We named an award in his son’s honor and we get strait cussed out.  My pops would be ecstatic if someone simply named their dog after me.

Mr. Rix Sr. even included an article from ESPN the Magazine, which spoke of their special father-son relationship, from like 2002.  I think 2002 was Chris Rix’s seventh or eighth year at Florida State but I’m not sure.  Can someone look that up for me?

Anyways, no one ever cussed out your son for being a terrible quarterback.  The man played a couple seasons in the NFL, we know he didn’t suck.  Although, Spurgeon Wynn played in the league, as well.  We simply said that it seemed like he played college athletics forever.  Look at some of the other names on that list; Mateen Cleaves won a championship, Wayne Turner won a championship.

I don’t get your upsettedness, Mr. Rix Sr.  You seem quite defensive.
