Wayne Blackshear Commits to Cards

Welcome to the 'Ville Wayne
Wayne Blackshear, an elite recruit in the 2011 class, gave Rick Pitino a fine Christmas present as he verbally committed to the Cardinals. Blackshear, a 6-5 210 lbs shooting guard/small forward from Chicago, is a consensus top 20 player in the country and becomes the fourth commitment in the 2011 class for the Cards. This is huge for the Louisville program and their 2011 class is shaping up to be Pitino’s best.
With the addition of Blackshear, the Cards have the current No. 1 recruiting class for 2011 with four top-50 commitments. Indianapolis Lawrence North stars Michael Chandler and Ryan Taylor and Cleveland St. Edward’s Zach Price have already committed.
This may also quiet down some people who felt Rick Pitino’s recruiting abilities were slipping. With Blackshear on board, the attention will probably turn to his teammate, Mike Shaw. Shaw is another top recruit and has long talked about playing college ball with Blackshear, although as of late, that talk has cooled a bit.
Here are some articles, with quotes, about Blackshear’s commitment:
