The legendary Hall of Freedom

The Cards return home and hope to get back on the winning track as they welcome in the Hatters of Stetson University. The Cards were exposed a bit during their loss to UNLV and will be without Preston Knowles and Peyton Siva for tonight’s game.

Slick Rick will shuffle up the lineup because of those injuries and go with Edgar Sosa, Jerry Smith, Reginald Delk, Rakeem Buckles, and Samardo Samuels as his starting five. Regardless of the lineup, Louisville just needs to play better.

Against UNLV, the Cards took challenged shots, allowed UNLV to drive around them, and got pushed around in general, by a MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE  TEAM!!!!! Hey guys, may I remind you, you play in the Big East confernce, MAN UP!!!!!!

Anyway, the Cards face a Stetson squad from the Atlantic Sun conference. The Hatters are 2-4, but have played a pretty tough schedule which includes games at Florida, Florida State, and traditional basketball powerhouse South Carolina Upstate.  By the way, they lost to SC Upstate 78-56.

I actually like their logo

A player to watch for Stetson is sharpshooter Tyshawn Patterson. Patterson leads the Hatters in scoring at 15.3 ppg and shoots 45.5% from the three point line. If the Hatters are to be competitive, they must get a huge night from Patterson.

This game will get ugly. I cannot really imagine what the Cards could take away from this game other than to see if Samardo Samuels and Terrence Jennings have any interest in rebounding. Those two combined for a single rebound against UNLV.

Allow me to repeat, Sam Sam at 6-9 and TJ at 6-10, combined for 1 rebound last Saturday. I have never played college basketball, but I am quite certain I could luck into a rebound. Keep in mind, I am 5-9 with a fear of physical contact and I guarantee you I could grab a rebound if I so desired.

Besides a solid effort on the glass, I am not really looking for much tonight because honestly, Stetson will provide no real test. Louisville just needs to take their big win, sustain no more injuries, and move on. Neil will be back later with a recap.
