Pitino to Sacramento, or is it Jurich to UCLA? (also some recruiting news)

Apparently someone on a message board somewhere who has a lot of pull started up the Pitino leaving rumor again yesterday. There was even a press conference (see Guy’s articular) to be held today to announce his departure. However, The Courier-Journal’s C.L. Brown spoke with UofL SID Kenny Klein, and Klein said no press conference had been scheduled for (Friday) or anytime soon.

Then people got to flappin’ their gums about everything from Pitino resigning, to Tom Jurich goin’ west to UCLA, to Billy G being announced as the next coach of the Cardinals…..

THEN Yahoo! Sports reported that Pitino had emerged as a candidate for the head coaching position in Sacramento….

Well, rumors and more rumors…. Instead of speculating let’s catch up on some recruiting news real quick:

Louisville is trying to land two kids from the Chicago area, the first is Mike Shaw, the 7th ranked power forward according to Rivals, and what would be a big pick up for Louisville. Here is his bio-

Both a physical and skilled forward, Shaw is a match up problem with his ability to produce inside as well as make plays facing the basket. He has a feel for passing the ball, and defensively he has the versatility to defend multiple positions.

The second Chi-town kid is Wayne Blackshear, a 6′ 5″ guard and a top 5 player of the 2011 class as well. When asked about his talk with Pitino, Blackshear stated he loved watching how Pitino let Terrance Williams play on both sides of the court and will now add Louisville to his list of schools.
