Marquis Teague to wait until Spring; will visit Louisville this weekend

According to an article from the IndyStar.com, top 2011 prospect Marquis Teague will most likely wait until the Spring to make a commitment. Shawn Teague, Marquis’ father, said this:
“We really don’t have a timeline anymore,” Shawn Teague said. “I think we’ll probably go through the season so he can watch the teams and get a more accurate assessment of who he’d be playing with and that team’s style of play.
“We don’t want to be in a situation where he commits and isn’t completely comfortable with his decision. We talked about that; there are so many kids who commit and then end up de-committing. We want him to be 100 percent sure.”
Extending the timeline to make a decision is nothing new to the Teagues. They originally planned/hoped to make an announcement early summer, then late summer, then early fall, now it looks like next year. As most everyone knows, Teague has been recruited by Louisville, Kentucky, and Indiana, with most everyone in recruiting circles believing Louisville is the leader.

In fact, several recruiting experts have believed a commitment to Louisville from Marquis Teague to only be a matter of time. Jody Demling has even said some friends of Teague’s claim he told them he would commit to Louisville. This is whole thing just confuses me. However, it was revealed in the same article, linked below, that Teague will be in the ‘Ville this weekend for yet another unofficial visit, take that for what it’s worth.

**UPDATE**True Blue Kentucky is reporting that Teague will visit UK for Big Blue Madness. A Cal vs. Pitino showdown is shaping up nicely.

It is confusing, but I do know that I like the fact that Teague will watch Wall and Bledsoe play together for a year under Cal. I’m sure it’s a matter of time before he makes another UK visit as well.
