Louisville WR Copeland out for the year, other injury updates

Coach Steve Kragthorpe has confirmed freshman wide receiver Damian Copeland will miss the entire 2009 season due to a foot injury. Copelandturned some heads during the beginning of fall practice, but was not expected to compete for immediate playing time. It appears the only way he would have gotten onto the field for any significant playing time would be via special teams. Copeland will obviously redshirt.
In other Cardinal injury news, potential starting quarterback Adam Froman is nursing a slight shoulder strain. It is not anything major, as it simply requires him to ice it down after practice. Coach Kragthorpe said he is not worried about it being a long term thing. Also, defensive tackle Tyler Jensen is still working his way back from a dislocated elbow. Right now, Jensen is doubtful for the opener against the Larry Birds from Indiana State on September 5.
