Louisville cooling on J.J. Moore?

Today is the first day recruits in the 2010 basketball class can sign with their future schools. Louisville currently has zero commitments for the class, but is in the mix with several unsigned recruits. However, it now looks like the Cards may have one less prospect on their board.

We have covered the J.J. Moore recruitment for a few months and consistently since middle of this year, I have been told Louisville likes Moore a lot. Well, yesterday evening I received a text saying ‘I think Louisville’s cooling on Moore, not sure why yet.”

In addition, awesome recruiting guru Jody Demling held a chat last night on Courier-Journal.com and also stated he thinks Louisville is backing off Moore. Demling also stated he felt Moore would sign with either Pitt or St. John’s. This is a pretty big development in my opinion.

The Cards still have a great shot at elite forward Tobias Harris, but after him the only other prospect we know about is Russell Smith, a 5-10 point guard who can shoot it. Smith comes into town this wekeend for a visit, and while Louisville has not offered Smith yet, it is assumed if he’s offered, he commits on the spot.

Jody Demling also revealed the Cards have started recruiting a new player as well. This player’s name has not been released yet, but Demling thinks he’ll have  full report today. Naturally, we will keep you updated on this situation. Remember to check out our boy Wireman at AllKyHoops.com for Tobias Harris’ recruiting journal.
