In a highly anticipated move, Louisville Athletic Director Tom Jurich has informed Steve Kragthorpe he will be relieved of his duties as Louisville football coach. Jurich and Kragthorpe met this morning to discuss the state of the football program and in this meeting, Kragthorpe was informed of his dismissal.
Tom Jurich will hold a press conference to discuss the situation today at noon. We will have a full report on the press conference after it occurs. It is unclear at this moment whether or not Jurich will announce Kragthorpe’s replacement or potential replacement candidates, but from what I have been told I would not expect that to occur. However, anything is possible and remember, Jurich announced Pitino was his only choice to replace Denny Crum before he ever talked with Pitino. We will have updates throughout the day, stay tuned to the Pinkie.
