I'm saying that UofL fans should care about this BECAUSE of the fact that recruits and recruits parents will.
.
And by the way, college coaches don't get luxury of having something like this be "none of our business" because they are high profile and they embrace and profit from that fact.
,
A coach is a leader and he sells that on the trail.

First of all, how does his reputation not take a hit? He cheated on his wife and you have yet to present a valid argument as to why that doesn't affect/effect his reputation. By the way, the same wife who's brother died in 9/11 and you name a yearly basketball tournament in his honor. Nice way to honor your brother in law by cheating on his sister whom you've vowed to be for the rest of your life. Second, so everything that goes on outside of his job performance should not be considered? What if he were addicted to meth or crack? You still keep him as coach then? You removed him for the betterment of the program, the coach cannot be bigger than the program. If you don't remove him/have him resign now, you can never do so. Tinks, have a good day.

Who is defining character here? Danny Ainge is a Mormon. And so is Mark Pope. Miggety Mark prolly has like 47 wives by now. Is he a terrible guy with "low character"? Lance Armstrong is an atheist, as is that jerk Dan Fouts. They don't even believe in God! Does that automatically make them bad character guys?
.
I'm not saying I don't 100% agree with you that "most people" care about this and it will hurt Pitino. I'm just sayin' its ignorant and shouldn't. We shouldn't even know about it cuz it is NONE. OF. OUR. BUSINESS.

High character, or at least the perception of high character, is an important thing to most people, and it's no different on the recruiting trail. Pitino is not going anywhere in the short term, but this is not going to help him on in-home visits, which could compromise his future in the longer term (2-3 years in my opinion).
