Trinity defenive end, Jason Hatcher, offically decomitted from USC tonight. This reopens the recruitment of Hatcher from Charlie Strong and the Louisville coaching staff.
Hatcher had the choice between USC, Kentucky, Alabama, Arkansas and Louisville before choosing USC in July of 2012. There have been rumblings of Hatcher decommiting from USC ever since the ending to a dismal season and many reports that Lane Kiffin’s USC team was a train wreck.
Hatcher is a four star recruit who is ranked 1st in the state and 10th nationwide at his position. If Strong can pull Hatcher to Louisville, it will mark the first recruiting victory for Strong against newly hired Mark Stoops. It is likely that Hatcher will choose either Louisville or Kentucky. Also it will mean that Louisville will have pulled in 3 of the top 5 players in the state of Kentucky.
Hatcher’s teammate, James Quick, committed to Louisville earlier this month after the Cardinals stomping of Florida in the Sugar Bowl. Lets hope that, that victory can also sway Hatcher to Louisville. And to James Quick…it is time to put on your best recruiting act and get him to get on the train.
Hatcher is scheduled to visit Louisville the week before National Signing Day.
