Hurtt Officially Joins Cards’ Staff

clint Hurtt Officially Joins Cards Staff

In news we have been hearing for some time, Clint Hurtt has officially been hired by Charlie Strong to coach the Cards’ defensive line.  Jon Fabris was originally slated to take that job, but had to leave due to family concerns.

Hurtt comes to Louisville after spending three seasons as defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator for the U (Miami, Fl for those not hip enough). Hurtt is a fantastic recruiter and adds to an already great recruiting staff Charlie Strong has assembled.

Clint Hurtt played for the U from 1997-2001 and after suffering a career ending injury, entered the coaching world in 2002. As recruiting coordinator, he played a large role in the U signing the top ranked recruiting class in 2008.

In 2009, Hurtt slacked off and only signed a top 10 class in 2009. That type of recruiting effort will not be tolerated here in Louisville, Clint.

With the addition of Clint Hurtt, the Cards have almost a full staff with deep ties to the state of Florida. The Cards will no doubt use the Sunshine state as their base of operations for the duration of Charlie Strong’s tenure as coach.

Keep in mind, the Cards are putting together a very solid class with Charlie Strong and Co. only having about two full months to recruit. Louisville is off to a great start in 2011 recruiting as well and once Strong has coached, and won, some games, I expect his recruiting to only get better.
