Seven foot, 270 pound Weston (FL) Sagemont center Fabricio de Melo has trimmed his list to four schools, and according to the Courier-Journal’s Jody Demling’s blog, could make an official decision as early as this week.
Fab Melo told reporters in Orlando, Fla. last week during the AAU National Championships that the University of Louisville, Syracuse, Miami and Florida are the final four schools on his list.
His Rivals.com profile has Louisville as the only school in which Melo has a ‘High’ interest in, with a ‘Medium’ interest in the other three schools.
Melo, originally from Brazil, also reportedly said he could decide in the coming week before heading home to spend time with his family there.
Melo, a 7’0″ center that is ranked #5 overall (#2 among centers) on the 2010 Rivals150 List, is going to be a huge presence in the middle, and already has a high skill level with shooting range and ball handling skills, good footwork and dishes, as evidenced by the short highlight video below, which shows Melo penetrate from the top of the key and drop off a nice no-look pass to another 2010 prospect, Josh Langford, who has verbally committed to Louisville:
