Deener replaces Wolfe as Louisville’s TV play-by-play voice; Cardinal fans everywhere rejoice

According to Rick Bozich, via his Courier-Journal.com blog, Drew Deener will replace the powertool Ari Wolfe as the new play-by-play man for Louisville Cardinals basketball and football telecasts. Deener currently hosts the morning radio program The Earlybirds on 790 AM WKRD, but has previously worked on television for WHAS-11. He will join Doug James for football and Bob Valvano for basketball.

Welcome aboard Drew and please, I beg you, know the football and basketball rosters!!!

Everyone knows my opinion of Ari Wolfe, but in case you do not, here is a brief synopsis: He’s a cordless powertool. Despite those feelings, I did not wish him any ill-will and definitely did not wish he lose his job. Since 2005, he has consistently misidentified players, made awful comments, or asked a coach on live TV about a specific recruit prior to that kid even verbally committed (asked Coach Krags about Matt Simms). But as time went on, it became somewhat endearing.

Even though I view Ari Wolfe as a tool, and for the record he is, I wish him the best in all his future endeavors. From everyone here at the Pinkie, best of luck Ari!
