What will UK’s next home look like?

ISG is the stadium design and construction firm that has been selected to construct the buidling that will eventually replace Rupp Arena. Above is a rendering of the vision they have for what it will look like.

Here is what they say about the project:

ISG, in conjunction with IMG College, was asked to develop a proposal for the task of rebuilding their famed basketball arena, Rupp Arena, as well as renovating their football stadium, Commonwealth Stadium and building a new baseball park. This would be the most ambitious Division 1 college building plan in America, totalling over $500mm.

The team assembled to compete for this RFP included HKS Architects, Mortenson Construction and Goldman Sachs. In June 2009, the University of Kentucky selected ISG’s team for this project. At present, the final timelines, agreements and research are being executed for a January 2010 kickoff of construction.

The sales, marketing and CRM process will be jointly handled by ISG, IMG College and Legends (a JV between IMG and Goldman Sachs).
