Video from John Wall’s Cover Shoot for ESPN the Magazine

Two highlights from this video of John Wall shooting the ESPN cover in case you can’t watch: 1) John Wall having make up put on, because you know Boogie is going to make fun of him for that and 2) “The concept for this photo shoot started with the name, John Wall” – the photographer talking about his inspiration for the shoot, which features Jimmy John on a wall with his imprint in it. I don’t know why, but I thought that quote was funny.
Also, while I’m here, there’s a little recruiting news to pass along. John Calipari hinted a few weeks ago that he would like to add one more player to this year’s class. At the time, the two logical candidates were a couple high profile transfers: Arnett Moultrie of UTEP and Royce White of Minnesota.
With the news this week that Moultrie had signed with Mississippi State, that speculation came to an end, but White is still out there, and, according to Myron Medcalf of the Star Tribune in the Twin Cities, UK is very much an option: “I’m told Royce White “narrowing in” on Kentucky. Mutual interest. Guy wants to go pro. Calipari sends guys to the pros early. Makes sense.”
White did not play last season for Tubby Smith, so he in theory could play next season. Medcalf does go on to mention some of the eligibility issues that I have previously talked about, so there’s work to be done here. Regardless, this is one last name to keep in mind before we shift our full attention to the class of 2011.
