There was speculation that UK cornerback Paul Warford would be academically ineligible for his senior campaign and today it was announced that he will not return.
The news was announced via the UK media guide during SEC Media days.
Warford started nine games last year and played in 11, recording 32 tackles for the Whomp Squad.
He also sat out the 2008 season because of academics.
It is also being said that freshman defensive tackle Mister Cobble could be ruled academicly ineligible.
Cobble redshirted last season and was named the most valuable defensive scout team player. If eligible, he is expected to contend for a starting spot.
Will Johnson and Myron Walker are expected to transfer.
Head coach Joker Phillips took the podium at SEC media days at about 4:30 this afternoon. We’ll break down his comments later tonight.
