Doron Lamb

The Boost Mobile Elite 24 event wrapped up last night in the Bronx. ZagsBlog has a nice wrapup of the game and if you have read anything about the event, you’ve likely noticed something: most of the strongest performances were by players strongly considering Kentucky.

The co-MVP’s were shooting guard Doron Lamb and Tobias Harris, both players who have been on UK’s campus this summer.

Lamb led his team to victory with a 23 point, 6 rebound, 5 assist performance. Lamb also told Five Boro Sports that he has already planned three official visits this fall to Kentucky, Kansas, and Oklahoma, who just recently extended an offer.

Tobias Harris was Lamb’s teammate. He scored 20 points to share MVP honors. Check out my post yesterday with an update on Harris.

Also, point guard Josh Selby, another Calipari target, put on a show yesterday with a number of highlight reel dunks, including one over UNC commitment Kendall Marshall.

Another UK target at point guard for 2010, Brandon Knight, did not make the trip for the game, but there is still a small update on him this rainy Saturday. Dustin Rumbaugh says on his Twitter that UK is in his top 5 along with UConn, Kansas, Miami (FL), and Florida.

One school missing from that list is Duke, which is not really very surprising to me. Knight never seemed like a Dukie to me and Coach K and company are putting their eggs in the Kyrie Irving basket. That’s too bad for them as well because I believe he’ll end up a Hoosier.
