I feel like I said something about UK being the “most marketable team in America” …yeah, I think that was me.story posted on the front page of ESPN about John Calipari awaking the sleeping giant that is Kentucky Basketball. Check it out.
Right now Dana O’Neil (the same Dana O’Neil that really didn’t like Billy Gillispie) has a

… and the cash register starts to cha-ching.
God it’s good to see the prized recruits going somewhere besides tobacco row.
Kentucky is like the new Lamborghini… pretty to look at, but is a gas hog. Yes, Calipari is marketable and he can recruit, but at what cost? You currenty are 3 scholarships over the limit, a coach who has a history of blowing the big game with quality talent, and a daunting schedule. If you really think UK will be standing at the end of the season as a unified team free from injury and clicking on all cylinders… you should have your head examined. Add to the fact that yes, UK has this talent now, but at what cost will it be? I remember an issue with Eddie Sutton somewhere in the UK past, wait until Cal is done there. And by the way, Cal’s dream job is coaching LeBron in New York, not that bustling metropolis known as Lexington, KY.
Ok so the last guy to post really has some serious hater problems going on. Sad to see so many people talking trash and shooting down UK for this move. When you have a program that is as big, as loved, valued, storied, as incredible as this one, and they have an 11 year final four droubt, you will see people make changes and do what they can to get back to where the program should be. No one made this much of a fuss when Roy went to NC for his “dream job.” Its funny watching all these haters run their cakesuckers and try to make sense out of something thats totally over their head, on a completely different level, something they know nothing about, and most likely never will. Maybe they wont go as far as everyone hopes they do, maybe they will. Either way, I gaurentee there wont be any empty seats in just about any arena they play in the whole year. They will be exciting to watch even if they dont completely gel. Can you say that about your team?
“I was talkin to a homeless drunk about religion. He said, “it’s all I got but it aint much. And you know the way I feel these days, well I’d rather have a gun than a crutch! Makes sense to me! Yeah makes sense to me! I must confess!” Bloodkin
