Tom Izzo a candidate at UK?

NEWS 25 Sports has learned Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo is the top choice to replace Billy Gillispie as UK head coach.
Sources in Lexington told News 25 late Friday night that Izzo is the target of Kentucky Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart. Those sources also told NEWS 25 Sports Izzo’s representatives have said if Izzo is offered the UK job, Izzo would accept.
Quotes from Tom Izzo have been floating around lately that he doesn’t feel as appreciated as he deserves to be, and may be amenable to a switch. Izzo does teach a style of play that many would call Tubby-esque, but it’s impossible to argue with the results he has brought to Michigan State.
In terms of character and ability to deal with the media, I don’t think there’s a much better candidate out there than Izzo. The story about him encouraging Joe Crawford to return to UK when not doing so would have likely caused Crawford to become a Spartan is one that really reveals what kind of guy he is.
I believe that a Tom Izzo hire would be a home run, and I hope this to be true, so much so that I may even been rooting for Louisville to end Michigan State’s season tomorrow so this can play out as soon as possible.

Why would Izzo leave MSU? As far as being unappreciated, I would like to see any source to refer to that. As of Friday, Izzo has gone on record saying he is very happy at MSU as well as have deep family roots in the State as does his wife’s family. If we lose Izzo, I think it will be to the NBA as that challenge would be very intreguing to him, As far as resurecting KY, not so much.
Why would I come to Kentucky? What is in Kentucky that I would leave Michigan for? Michigan State is the only real basketball program in the state of Michigan, has great facilities, has great fan support, and has a state chock full of great basketball talent.
Again, why would I or any other good coach want to come to Kentucky?
