Rich Brooks Named SEC Coach of the Year by CFN

CollegeFootballNews.com released its 2009 SEC awards today and the only UK player to be named to the first team was Derrick Locke, who was named as a kick returner, but Rich Brooks was named Coach of the Year.
I think it takes the perpective of an outsider to totally grasp what Brooks has done for the program, and this kind of honor is a perfect example of that. Much of the last two weeks has been spent lamenting missed opportunities and play calling, rather than a season that was more successful than most expected.
If this ends up being Rich Brooks last season as some are speculating, this is a well deserved honor that puts a cap on an excellent tenure.
