Patrick Patterson named AP First Team All American

Today the Associated Press unveiled its pre-season All American team. The 5 first teamers are big names from big schools, and Patrick Patterson is one. Here’s what the team looks like:

Luke Harangody – Notre Dame
Cole Aldrich – Kansas
Sherron Collins – Kansas
Patrick Patterson – Kentucky
Kyle Singler – Duke

Also, the pre-season coaches’ All SEC team was announced today, and two Kentucky players were recognized.

Patrick Patterson is a pick on the 8 man first team and John Wall is on the second team. I understand that John Wall hasn’t played a college game yet, but does anyone really believe there are 8 SEC players better than him?
