Kentucky defeats Vanderbilt 63-61 on Nazr Mohammed’s “I gotta get rid of it now” kinda scoop shot in Tubby’s first year as the Cats head coach. We all know what happened to conclude that season. Uh…Comeback Cats…National Championship #7. Speaking of Comebacks, come back tomorrow for a breakdown of Kentucky’s first SEC contest which takes place this Saturday versus the Vanderbilt Commodores.

That has always been my favorite UK buzzer beater for 2 reasons: 1) Nazr’s disbelief when he hit it 2) without hesitation, the whole team immediately runs off the court as fast as they can to avoid the call being overturned. Most of the time, teams take a little bit of time to celebrate and organize before they run off the court, but the Cats bolt from the court as soon as they see the refs called it good.
