2014 UK recruit Trey Lyles suffered a knee injury during his sectional playoff game Friday night. Lyles’ Tech TItans won their game 62-45 and advanced on to the next round. Without their standout 6’9” player, the Titans fell 66-50 in the sectional finals. Lyles could do nothing but sit from the sidelines and watch as his team suffered without him. Tech coach Jason Delaney said Lyles will undergo further tests on his knee this week. The injury is believed to be a torn MCL. After the sectional finals game was long over, Lyles sat in a folding chair with his head in his hands and tears running down his face.
Lyles has always been rumored to be a UK lean, and some might even go as far as to say he’s a lock to be a Wildcat one day. UK recruit or not, you always hate to hear of any young kid having to go through a tough injury. The Indianapolis City player of the year says he has no plans to make his college decision until the end of next year’s basketball season. Thoughts and prayers go out to Lyles as he recovers.Powered by Sidelines
