Lex18: Cal Expects Cousins To Stay At UK

 Lexington, KY – Since most True Blue fans expect both John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins to leave after this season for the big bucks of the NBA, and Cal talks to NBA executives all the time, where do the top two freshman stand?

So, LEX18 Sports asked Cal if he expected DeMarcus Cousins to be drafted high.

“I think he’s going to come back,” says Cal. “He wants to come back.”

Do you think John will be drafted high?

“I think he could be. He tells me he wants to come back. I don’t know. We’ll have to talk when this is over. These guys, I don’t know if I want to coach them another year.”

Not sure what to read into this, but it at least opens up the possibility of Cousins returning next season. I still say if I needed a big man I would consider taking Cousins No. 1 overall.  We’ll see. Now onto the ‘Vols tomorrow.
