Right now, according to David Mihm the Cats are out; Cards in at #2.
South-Dayton, OH
#2 Louisville vs. #15 American
#7 Tennessee vs. #10 Ohio State
#3 Kansas vs. #14 North Dakota State
#6 Utah vs. #11 Virginia Tech
Kentucky is listed as one of the last eight not to make the tournament. Here is what he had to say about Kentucky and their opponent Saturday, Florida.
Kentucky: Early-season neutral-court wins over West Virginia and Kansas State have held up nicely, and sweeping Tennessee (the first in Knoxville behind Jodie Meeks’ 54 points) will clearly be on the Committee’s minds. But their RPI is 79 right now (!) which would mean a historic low if they somehow made the field… Tournament odds: 40%.
Florida: Make no mistake, the Gators are in serious trouble. The only moderately impressive win on a #244 non-conference schedule is against Washington by two points. .500 in the SEC is not going to cut it this year, and regardless of conspiracy theorists’ assertions, there are no bonus points given for recent Tournament performance. Tournament odds: 40%.
Tournament Locks (29):
ACC: North Carolina, Wake Forest, Clemson, Duke, Florida State
Big East: UConn, Pittsburgh, Louisville, Marquette, Villanova, West Virginia, Syracuse
Big Ten: Michigan State, Illinois, Purdue
Big 12: Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri
Pac-10: Washington, Arizona State, California, UCLA
SEC: LSU, Tennessee
Mountain West: Utah, BYU
Other: Xavier, Memphis, Butler, Gonzaga
Last Four Out:

New Mexico

The SEC gets only two squads in? A 6 and a 7 seed? This monkey is out of his tree…
Well South Carolina is in, just not a lock. With the way UK has played, the fact that they are even in the discussion at this point is beyond belief. I wrote on Wednesday night that I thought UK would have to win the SECT to get in…now I think if UK beats Florida and gets a halfway decent SECT win they will sneak in.
